Tarija, located in the southern portion of Bolivia, entices visitors with its distinct beauty and colorful culture. Known as the “Capital of Smiles,” this city is well-known for its friendly residents who make every tourist feel at ease. Tarija’s Mediterranean-like temperature and breathtaking scenery create an ideal setting for exploration and relaxation.
One of Tarija’s most appealing qualities is its thriving wine industry. The region’s high-altitude vineyards produce some of South America’s finest wines, and visitors can enjoy delightful tours and tastings that are a must for any wine aficionado. Beyond the vineyards, the Valle de los Condores provides stunning vistas and the opportunity to observe majestic condors soaring across the skies.

What's included: Local Guide (English); Pick-up from and return to hotel; Admission tickets; Lunch --A minibus will drop by your hotel at 8 a.m. and go the Tarija valley's famous high-altitude wineries (Campos de Solana, Juan Diablo, etc.) where you can do wine tasting and snacking. Then we return to the city to see Tarija's most notable attractions like the Tres Pasos Al Frente plaza, the Four Names avenue (Cuatro Nombres), and the Bicentennial Bridge. By that time, you will be ready for our complimentary lunch (barbecue, please let us know if you're vegetarian), followed by a visit to the Coimata spa and its natural pools. Leaving Tarija, we go to the nearby village of San Lorenzo to see the historic home of Eustaquio Moto Mendez, one of Bolivia's legendary fighters for independence. Our last stop is the San Jacinto lagoon, a picturesque setting that goes over the Zapateo bridge. | What's included: Local Guide (English); Pick-up from and return to hotel; Snacks; Entrance fees --At 8:30 a.m. in the morning, we'll pick you up from your hotel and drive to San Lorenzo, a nearby quaint and historic village. Many monuments are in San Lorenzo, as wll as the house of Moto Mendez, which we'll visit to learn about his life and fight for Bolivia's independence. Next we visit the 17th century church of San Lorenzo and the local market, where you can catch the aromas of local produce and snack on local delicacies. From the village, we go to Coimata for a walk to the falls and natural spa waters, and on the way pass the enormous San Jacinto dam, which supplies water to the city. | What's included: Local Guide (English); Pick-up from and return to hotel; Lunch --We'll pick you up from your hotel at 8:30 a.m. and drive to Sama Bio Reserve, an ecological wonder with beautiful sights and landscapes. We'll then hike into the reserve to the Chorros de Jurina natural spa and partake in the relaxing paradise of water and forest. Lunch will be served surrounded by the two waterfalls that feed the spa, (Chorro Blanco and Chorro Negro). After recharging with lunch, we'll hike some more more into the Marquiri canyon until we reach a fantastic waterfall that drops off a 15-meter cliff. You can swim in the crystal pool at the base of the falls before we take you back to your hotel in Tarija. | What's included: Local Guide (English); Pick-up from and return to hotel; Admission tickets; Lunch --We start out at 8 a.m. from your hotel and and head to the Sam Reserve, where we hike along its slopes, plateaus, and lagoons and see Tarija's central valley from a distance. We also go into the famous La Falda Tunnel to the hidden village of Iscayachi. A picnic lunch will be served including a sandwich, water, and fruit, before we continue the hiking to Laguna Grande of Tajzara, a lake surrounded by sand dunes and specked with pink flamingos. On the way back, we'll stop by another village where you can observer artisan weaving and buy souvenirs that are sure to please. |
